Apistogramma Viejita Dwarf Cichlid is a remarkable aquarium fish with outstanding colorul apperance. These amazing freshwater fish tyically are found living in slow-moving rivers and streams in South America. Viejitas are small, brightly colored freshwater fish with fun personallities. Features of Apistogramma Viejita:

  • Dinstinctive golden base with red markings, Males are bigger and more colorful than females. Males have spiky dorasl fin.
  • Apistogramma Viejita generally stay within the bottom half of the water and often sift the substrate for left over food.
  • It is better to keep in a ratio of one male with 3-4 females to control the harassement
  • In spawning conditions and during broodcare the female will adopt a bright yellow
  • Average Lifespan :5-10 years

Lighting

Lighting can be as bright as you need for the plants to thrive, but make sure you have a lot of cover for the dwarf cichlids. These fish prefer dim lighting, so very bright lights need to be hitting the leaves of the plants without shining directly onto the fish.
