The Harlequin Tuskfish is a Wrasse and a fish of colourful beauty and impressive teeth. Suited well to life in the aquarium, the Harlequin Tuskfish is easy to keep. They are a fast growing species and do well in a fish only aquarium. Harlequin tuskfish are protogenous hermaphrodites and can change sex over the course of their lives

Native to the Western Pacific Ocean.

They can be aggressive towards other species of Wrasse, and will make a snack of other small fish & invertebrates. Keep with other large semi-aggressive species.

Feeding:

Harlequin Tuskfish are carnivores therefore their diet should consist of a variety of meaty foods. They feed well in the aquarium and should be fed a variety of live, frozen, and prepared brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, blood worms, chopped fish, and other marine foods.

Harlequin Tuskfish require a minimum tank size of approximately 200L with plenty of rock & structure to hide in. They are good jumpers, so ensure your aquarium is covered securely.

This species does not have specific requirements for aquarium substrate. We recommend the use of aragonite or coral sand from fine to coarse grades to replicate their natural environment and encourage healthy beneficial bacteria colonies.
